what you will need is...

What you will need for your very own chicken tikka is only a pinch of ingredients.

The first and the most important thing is the chicken meat. Usually a boneless meat is used for the tikka bites but a few of them are made with pieces containing bones as well. It is not necessary to use a selected part of the chicken body, any part can go with it. but the best of them is the breast piece because of its more meat content. leg pieces are the second best for the purpose. Then the wings, and other parts later on. The only part not suitable for a tikka is the neck, because it contains more bones than the meat and when you are going to grill it, it means that there will be almost nothing left except bones because the meat shrinks upon grilling.
But when you have boneless meat, there is nothing to worry about for the shrinkage. It will taste as good as the breast meat since the boneless meat has been taken from the chicken's breast (usually).

Another very good option for you is to use a whole chicken. This will be kind of an experiment for the starters because they will get to taste each and every part of the chicken, from which they will be able to identify which, the breast or the rest, tastes better to them. And definitely will be able to use the right one for the next time.
But it is necessary to use a skinned chicken rather than the un-skinned one which is used in the roasted chicken. The two pictures of the whole chickens shown above are un-skinned chicken. You need a skinned one for your very own chicken tikka. If you do not use a skinned chicken you will mess up your tikka and end up in something different. Who knows it might taste better than the conventional tikka? I never tried on doing that. Maybe the experimental part of this blog will discuss about a tikka with an un-skinned chicken.

Hang around for the next steps in the preparation of your Chicken Tikka. Please leave your comments.
